| Most places that make the invitations with have sample
listings you can look at for wording: |
| Correct way to word invitations if both sets
of parents are hosting---Our society has always honored this to the Brides Parents
publically. You can however mention the grooms parents by saying:---- Mr.
and Mrs. Smith invite you to the wedding of "Brides first name", "Bride's
Middle name" to "Groom's First", Groom's Middle", son of Mr. and Mrs.
Grooms parents. Polite way to say "No Kids!" |
| if on the addressed invitation does not say
"and children" or "and family" then it should be assumed that children
are not invited. Many people ignore this. A possible solution is to arrange on site
daycare. Hire a baby sitter for the day or evening in another part of the hall where
kids can play away from the adults. |

| If you elope...tell your family as
soon as you return...this won't be easy and there may even be some sparks that fly, but in
the end it should be OK. They may even want to throw you a party. Send announcements out
to extended family. |

| It's just tradition, besides many like getting the
personal recognition from them when they refuse. |

| Adding a memorial |
| Appropriate at the ceremony; "In loving memory
of"...can do a verbal reading or just a mention. Speak to the officiant re:
this. |

| Don't invite people you really don't get along
with especially if they will make you miserable on your wedding day. Try to
repair and squabbles before the wedding. If that doesn't work, do not invite them.
(even if it's a sister or brother) I have seen too many times immediate family ruin
special occasions for people. It's not worth it. |
