Traditions and Timetables:
After Ceremony--Receiving line
Formal Portraits are taken. (some people do this at the ceremony site, others travel to a favorite spot, or some take these right at the reception.
Guest go to the reception site and begin the cocktail hour
Bride and groom arrive from pictures.  Sometimes they mingle other times they rest!
Guests are seated at their tables.
Wedding party, parents, Bride and Groom are announced.
1st Dance of bride and groom
Bride dances with....
Groom dances with.....
Others join in
Champagne is passed out and the best man begins his speech to the new couple.
Food service begins
More dancing after dinner
Cutting of the cake
More dancing
Coffee and desert
More dancing, Brides bouquet, garter, etc
Farewell dance...then bride changes and they head off the the honeymoon!
Of course these are only suggested timelines...The order can be mixed up to anyway you would like.  Discuss this with your DJ/Band.   Remember your DJ/Band  will be directing you through the wedding.  The more he/she is aware of what you want the better off you will be.

Marriage License in Connecticut
Must apply for the license in whatever town you are getting married in!
You must apply in person, preferably together. Need a blood test within 35 days of test.
Most cities are open Monday-Friday but call ahead, Cost is usually $30.00--Cash
You will receive the license the same day and it is valid for 65 days
Marriage License in new York
$25 cash
Both must appear together at the town or city clerks office.
You can go to any town for a license. It covers the entire state of New York.
Bring the license the day of the wedding.
24 hour waiting period for the license--good for 60 days after.
